Powering Growth With Renewable Energy

sustainable manufacturing

Sustainability is increasingly becoming a key focus for many business strategies. Of the G250—the world’s top 250 companies—nearly 96% report on sustainability. While the number is not as high for smaller companies, another survey found that 80% of corporate businesses have established internal environmental goals for energy evolution and efficiency. Many factors are driving this increase, particularly consumer demand. Companies are recognizing the importance of sustainability and are taking responsibility for their environmental impact to contribute to a healthier planet for future generations.

Moving to Renewable Energy

One way we at Arrow Tru-Line have looked to make positive changes is through renewable energy.  We have partnered with an electricity distributor and signed a two-year commitment for all our energy to come from green resources, eliminating the use of brown power for our two manufacturing locations.

When evaluating energy production, a clear distinction exists between brown and green power. Brown power refers to electricity generated from fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas. This type of power generation is associated with high carbon emissions and significant environmental impact. On the other hand, green power is derived from renewable sources such as wind, solar, hydro, and geothermal energy. These sources produce little to no greenhouse gas emissions and are considered more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

By shifting from brown power to green power, we are significantly reducing our carbon footprint and contributing to a more sustainable future. This transition not only positively impacts the environment but also aligns with the growing consumer expectations for corporate responsibility in environmental stewardship.  Embracing green power in our manufacturing processes demonstrates our commitment to sustainability and innovation in manufacturing.

Sustainability as a Business Focus

Our ISO 14001 certification further underscores our dedication to sustainability at Arrow Tru-Line. This internationally recognized standard for environmental management systems demonstrates our commitment to not only renewable energy but also to a broader range of environmental responsibilities.

Achieving ISO 14001 certification means we have implemented a systematic approach to managing our environmental impacts, reducing waste, and improving resource efficiency. Our environmental management system is designed to improve our environmental performance continually by setting and reviewing objectives and targets.

By integrating ISO 14001 standards into our operations, we ensure that sustainability is woven into the fabric of our business processes. This comprehensive approach allows us to identify opportunities for reducing our environmental footprint across all areas of our operations, not just in energy consumption.

By embracing renewable energy and a robust environmental management system, we ensure that our actions today support a sustainable tomorrow.
